The M1A2 being introduced in 1992 as an M1 with system enhancements keeping this AFV as a state of the art weapons system.\n\nThe M1A2's main armament is the 120mm M256 smoothbore gun with a 7.62mm M240 machine gun mounted coaxially on its right.
