Bigjigs Rail Mallard Battery Operated Engine

Bigjigs Rail

Bigjigs Rail Mallard Battery Operated Engine is a replica of the Mallard A4 locomotive, originally built in 1938 and designed by Sir Nigel Gresley. The wedge-shaped, Art Deco styling reflects the distinctive look of the original engine, which reduced the London King’s Cross to Newcastle journey time to 4 hours. In summer 1938, Mallard set a steam locomotive world speed record of 126mph at Stoke Bank, a record that still stands. This battery operated engine runs on wooden train tracks and can be used on its own or with carriages attached via magnetic couplings. The magnetic coupling system is compatible with Bigjigs Rail engines and carriages, and most other major wooden railway brands. Key features Replica Mallard engine based on the 1938 A4 locomotive Magnetic couplings for use with Bigjigs Rail and most other wooden railway brands Pulls a maximum of three carriages Conforms to current European safety standards...
