The short shaft is useful when mounting to scratchplates or control plates (Stratocasters, Telecasters etc.) to ensure the knobs do not sit too high above the body, it is made from durable brass and has a 1/4\"" (6.35 mm) solid shaft for mounting imperial sized knobs with set screws.
