Outdoor Research

The SuperStrand LT Jacket is a very lightweight insulated layer that for the price makes it ideal for those wanting a good packable midlayer or a warm lightweight outer-layer to provide warmth when the temperature drops. Outdoor Research says: SuperStrand LT styles are the best down alternative for four-season warmth. This collection features a unique quilt pattern that reduces stitching, creating an uninterrupted ow of insulation and warmth. VerticalX™ SuperStrand insulation and windproof nylon fabric combine to provide our best warmth-to-weight layering package. Our Verdict The Outdoor Research SuperStrand LT Hoodie is a very light weight insulated jacket that offers a lot of warmth for its weight but is also very well priced making it one of the best value jackets for its weight and insulation level. Outdoor Research use the VerticalX™ insulation in order to give a very good level of warmth. The baffle design also means that the jacket can be compressed to a pretty small size, which makes it ideal for use as a mid-layer when the temperature drops or when you stop to take a drink or rest. It will easily fit in a rucksack along with the rest of your kit so it is perfect to always have on you. In terms of fit the SuperStrand is less of a technical fit but this just means that you aren't going to need to worry about fitting other layers underneath. However the lack of adjustment at the bottom of the jacket (i.e. no elastic draw cord) was a bit of a disappointment. - Reviewed by Ultralight Outdoor Gear Features Insulated Collar Zip Hand Pockets Left Hand Pocket Doubles as Stuff Sack Low-Pro™ Elastic Binding Cuffs and Hem Water Resistant Wind Proof Packable The Infinite Guarantee: Outdoor Research gear is guaranteed to perform throughout the lifetime of the product
