This Weymouth and Bradoon set is specifically designed to be used on double bridles that are often worn for show or dressage (elementary and higher level). The set includes a single jointed free ring bradoon that allows more movement than a fixed cheek bit and is ideal for horses that tend to lean and stand still. The Single Joint Bradoon has a nutcracker action that works on the mouth bars and lips.The Weymouth has a straight mouthpiece that offers a more consistent action and works on the tongue and mouth bars; the orifice allows more room for the tongue. The Weymouth exerts some pressure on the mouth and, used in conjunction with the curb chain, exerts pressure on the grooves of the mouth. The Weymouth is also used to refine aids and to encourage a horse to sit on its hocks to make more advanced movements.This set requires two reins, one attaching to the Bradoon bit and the other to the Weymouth bit.
