New to 2018 and designed by sculptor Jose Luis Santes, Flamenco Dancers represents the famous flamenco dance of southern Spain in the variant called bata de cola. The flamenco dress with a train, or bata de cola, is rarely found these days due to the technical demands of the dance, the high cost of the dress itself and its incompatibility with some modern flamenco styles. In this piece the movement of the long train of the spectacular dress is just as vital as the expressive gestures of the dancers’ arms and hands. In gloss finish porcelain, the woman's hair is adorned with a red rose to match her earrings. Stands 44 x 38cm, handmade in Spain.
