The Lang Electronics PEQ-2 is no mere replica of the PEQ-2 passive equalizer - it actually IS the PEQ-2! Thanks to Heritage Audio, this stunner of a solid state EQ is back in production. The Lang PEQ-2 is also known as the solid state Pultec, and even at first glance, the layout of this reincarnation matches every inch of the original legendary valve-driven EQ unit. Controls are provided for boosting or 'drooping' the high frequency band and low frequency band while a HF Bandwidth Boost knob (better known as the Q-factor knob) has been planted in the middle. The PEQ-2 adds more steps to the frequency selection for improved accuracy and the low boost and low cut can be separately adjusted. And, since this is a solid state equalizer, there are no valves on board, just the sweet and musical curves of a Pultec, but framed by cleaner sound and extra punch.
