The bull played a prominent role in Minoan culture, with bull images appearing constantly on frescoes and on pottery. The original piece is in the museum in Heraklion Crete. The original of this bronze bull's head was a carved stone rhyton with inlaid shell, jasper and crystal and was found in Knossos in Crete, dating to 1550-1500 BC.
