The KBC BAND was almost but not quite THE JEFFERSON AIRPLANE.Formed in 1985 by AIRPLANE members PAUL KANTNER, MARTY BALIN, and JACK CASADY, and on guitar SLICK AGUILAR who later played with JEFFERSON STARSHIP.This was their only album and it made the top 100 of the Billboard chart and featured two hit singles America and It's Not You, It's Not Me both making the top 10 in the Billboard album rock chart.The band toured between 1985 and 1987 before PAUL KANTNER left to restart the STARSHIP.This was one of the shortest lived off shoots from the late seventies/early eighties JEFFERSON AIRPLANE/STARSHIP family.The KBC or Kantner-Balin-Casady Band was formed in the mid-'80s by three former members of Jefferson Airplane: guitarist/singer Paul Kantner, singer Marty Balin, and bassist Jack Casady.
