Corgi AA34204 Boeing-Vertol Chinook helicpter HC.1 RAF \""Gulf war\"" 1991.\n\nThis item is a limited edition (3322/3600) and is in excellent condition throughout. \n\nDuring the 1991 Gulf War with Iraq, the Chinooks were responsible for transporting army personnel and equipment prior to and during the land war. With the start of the land battle, Chinooks ferried three thousand five hundred POWs to rear camps, eighty-five at a time. Chinook Squadron Middle East flew one thousand hours and lifted over a million kilograms of freight in the first seven weeks of operations -84 of the total carried by all UK support helicopters, including RN Sea Kings. ZD982 was one of the task forces and was delivered to the RAF in 1985, initially serving with 240 OCU at Odiham, Hants, before being transferred to No. 18 Squadron prior to the Gulf War.
