Hungarian-born Mitchell Torok became a major name on the country scene during the early 50s initially by supplying the song for Jim Reeves debut hit Mexican Joe, and then as an artist in his own right, recording his own distinctive self-penned brand of novelty-flavoured material that gave him big hits on both sides of the Atlantic with songs like Caribbean , Red Light Green Light and When Mexico Gave Up The Rumba.
