The MSPRS studs have a threaded cap that screws into the bridge post tightening down on to the top of the bridge locking it to the post from above, this ensures the bridge does not lean on the posts and provides maximum sound transmission to the guitar body. The locking studs also keep the bridge in place during restringing so it cannot accidentally fall off, potentially becoming damaged or damaging the guitar top, the stud caps have a wide, slightly domed head in the PRS style.
