Taking its name from the Chinese word 'zhuang', which means to protect something, Neri & Hu's 'Zhuang' collection for Poltrona Frau is made up of a series of components which come together to form small treasure chests when combined. This oval pen holder case is carved from Canaletto walnut and is wrapped in 'tortora' saddle leather that is embellished with very fine stitching and branded with the Poltrona Frau logo. Part of the container's lid is fixed into position, while the mobile section is equipped with a metal clip that also acts as a handle, and the box additionally includes a metal support at its base that can be used as a ruler. The container may be stacked atop other pieces from the collection to create a layered multipurpose unit, or can be used independently to store writing utensils.
