Standard B6 supplements use pyridoxine HCl, which the liver has to convert into P-5-P before the body can use it. By supplementing with P-5-P directly, the conversion step is bypassed.\n\nP-5-P is involved in over 100 enzyme reactions in the body, particularly those of amino acid metabolism.
