Langlois-Chateau Crémant de Loire Brut Sparkling Wine - Chenin Blanc - 24 Months Aged - White Peach
Majestic
Tasting Notes Fascinating fizz from Champagne Bollinger’s outpost in the Loire Valley. Langlois-Chateau (named after the union of Edouard Langlois and his wife Jeanne Chateau) has been making some of the best Crémant in all of France for over 100 years. Crémant is made the exact same way as Champagne (Méthode Traditionnelle) just outside the Champagne region. So when the Bollinger family became majority stakeholders of Langlois-Chateau in the 1970s it meant that you can now enjoy Champagne know-how at a fraction of the price. But shhh… don’t tell everyone because Crémant remains one of sparkling wine’s best kept secrets. Decanter Magazine nailed it by describing the Crémant de Loire Brut NV – a Chenin Blanc Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc blend – as “enjoyable”. There’s so much going on here; quince peach sorbet grapefruit green apple white flowers and fresh bread slathered with honey and lemon. Pop the cork for celebrations sunshine canapés apple tart or any other occasion you care to.
