The bit sits very comfortably in the horse's mouth, providing more space, while the arch widens considerably at the KONNEX bit. Suitable for horses with a narrow mouth, for example, thoroughbreds or older horses (due to dental changes), horses with a large tongue, and especially horses that are sensitive to pressure applied to the tongue. The Tandem bit is used with a single pair of reins. It applies pressure to the nose, the branches of the lower jaw, and the nape. Pulling harder on the reins allows the rider to achieve even a slight lifting effect from the bit.
