As well as two stereo inputs, a full 7.1 configuration can be hooked up to the SMC - definitely useful for comparing two versions of the mix, and if a subwoofer is added to the set-up, the LFE button can simply be activated to accommodate it, while the big, tactile, aluminium volume knob planted on the front control panel is actually an 8-layer potentiometer, so the dB levels have been divided divided over eight sections, from 0dB to -95dB.
