The WC vehicles were purpose built vehicles using common parts which included open and closed cab cargo, troop and weapons carriers. The \u00BD ton WC vehicles were mostly produced between 1940 and 1942 before they were redesigned as \u00BE ton to carry heavier loads from 1942 onwards. Over 77,700 \u00BD ton 4x4 Dodge WC trucks were built.\n\nThe Dodge WC23 was an command reconnaissance version which featured an open topped, 4-door body.
