Laphroaig Select a single malt whisky from the famous Islay distillery, with whe liquid 'selected' from different types of cask. The whisky has been aged in a combination of Oloroso sherry butts, American white oak, Pedro Ximenez Hogsheads, quarter casks and first fill bourbon casks. This results in a slightly less powerful variation of the Islay classic, offering a great introduction to these punchy peaty whiskies.Typically peaty on the nose, with hints of chocolate and citrus. This leads to a peaty taste, but less so than expected, allowing notes of apples and citrus to shine through, with a little spice on the tongue. The finish is medium length, with peat remaining until the end.
