Hornby R4748 Non-corridor Brake Composite Coach BR Crimson S6402S - OO Gauge\nExcellent example of the Hornby Brake Composite 1st / 3rd Class Class Maunsell non-corridor coach in later British Railways Crimson livery. Numbered S 6402S. These were unusual coaches, constructed by the Southern Railway in the 1930s using old 1890s bodies from the LSWR, mounted onto new chassis frames and bogies. Depicted here towards the end of their operating life after Nationalisation in 1948.\nAs with much of the SR coaching stock, they tended to be kept together in fixed sets / diagrams. This would have been the brake end coach for Set 43 / Diagram 418.\nThese coaches were newly tooled by Hornby in 2016, receiving a favourable reaction from modellers at the time with the build quality and detailing levels.
