Anglepoise

Original 1227 table lamp by Anglepoise® The Original 1227 table lamp, designed in 1933/34 by industrial designer George Carwardine, who originally worked in the automotive industry, became the model for spring-loaded lamps with its constant tension spring mechanism, which uses three springs to make this versatile work light movable. But that's not all: over time, this functional and visually versatile light source has become a design icon, even being used as a prop in films and advertising. Thanks to its various adjustment options, the Original 1227 table lamp is ideal as a light source for a desk or work table. Fitted with an E27 socket: the lamp comes with an energy-efficient LED bulb. Note: to ensure the Original 1227 table lamp remains balanced, the bulb used should weigh between 25 and 60 g. George Carwardine (1887-1948) created a design classic with the Original 1227 table lamp, for which he sold the licence to Terry & Sons, who had previously supplied the springs for his design. In 1993, a descendant of the Terrys – Ray Terry – invested a lot of money in the further development of the Original 1227 table lamp, which was once manufactured for factory halls.
