COSMETIC CONDITION: New. The Southern Railway (SR) took over operations of the railways on the Isle of Wight upon Grouping in 1923, inheriting an eclectic mix of locomotives and rolling stock. To replace many of these antiquated vehicles, ageing stock from the mainland was given a second life on the island and in the late-1930s, sixty former London Brighton & South Coast Railway (LBSCR) coaches arrived after having been rebuilt onto new 54ft chassis and fitted with Westinghouse brake equipment. It is these vehicles which have been modelled in OO Scale exclusively for Bachmann\u2019s EFE Rail range to produce this 4-coach pack.
