Steven Wagner (American) and Ian Levine ( from Blackpool) were songwriters( and others) who produced 3 volumes of 'Motortown' music that was New Northern Soul with a sprinkling of Motown for the 1990s. Also a few known standards like Where Did Our Love Go by Holland -Dozier- Holland sung by Three Ounces of Love.. While Northern Soul has been around since the 1970s there was a renewed interest in the 1990s and many soul gems were discovered and heard by a new audience. Add a few known singers like the Supremes,The Velvelettes, Brenda Holloway, Barbara Randoph, The Elgins and David Ruffin to name a few once in the Motown stable here giving us more contemporary sounding Northern Soul. Levine was one the first to DJ at the famous Wigan Casino.\nEvery CD listed is played all the way through.
