The Yamitsu Platinum 8000 Filter features both mechanical and biological filtration and boasts a huge surface area for beneficial bacteria to thrive and comes supplied with filter starter bacteria to get the filter up and running. The filter does not come supplied with a UVC as standard, however the Kockney Koi Yamitsu Platinum 8000 Pond Filter can be coupled with either the Yamitsu Special Algae Master 15w or 25w UVC (available separately) for a complete pond filtration solution.
