The Idle Control Valve features a low-thermal-expansion housing that maintains gasket compression across the full temperature range, while the Idle Speed Control Valve prevents vacuum leaks that could occur when metal and plastic components expand at different rates during warm-up and cool-down cycles. After removing the old Idle Air Control Valve, clean the mounting flange surface with a plastic scraper; place the included gasket onto the flange, align the bolt holes, hand-start the screws, then tighten the IAC Valve in a diagonal sequence to the torque value shown on the housing.
