The Idle Control Valve features a low-thermal-expansion housing that maintains gasket compression across the full temperature range, while the Idle Speed Control Valve prevents vacuum leaks that could occur when metal and plastic components expand at different rates during warm-up and cool-down cycles. Before removing the old Idle Air Control Valve, disconnect the battery negative terminal and let the engine cool; take a photo of the vacuum hose connections and component orientation for reference, then loosen the two mounting bolts and pull the IAC Valve straight out without twisting; install the replacement part with the included gasket and tighten the screws diagonally.
