The Idle Control Valve features an internal debris screen that captures particles before they reach the valve seat area, while the Idle Speed Control Valve prevents jamming from fuel system contaminants, extending service intervals. After removing the old Idle Air Control Valve, clean the mounting flange surface with a plastic scraper; place the included gasket onto the flange, align the bolt holes, hand-start the screws, then tighten the IAC Valve in a diagonal sequence to the torque value shown on the housing.
