The purpose of the Waveguide Cover is to shield the opening through which the microwaves enter the main cavity during operation. When to replace a microwave waveguide coverIt is possible that your waveguide cover can become damaged during normal use. Over time the waveguide cover can absorb, or become splattered by fat or food. This may cause the cover to become soft, overly-flexible or even overheat/burn, causing sparking around the waveguide cover during use. You need to replace the waveguide cover if it has fallen off, has a hole in it, or has any signs of burning or damage. How to replace a faulty waveguide coverThe waveguide cover will be located on the inside of the microwave oven. It will usually be on the right-hand side or in the roof of the microwave, held by a couple of retaining screws. To replace it, firstly ensure that the microwave is unplugged from the power supply and remove the damaged waveguide. Cut the replacement waveguide cover to size and screw in place. Please check the model fit list to ensure this part is correct for your model.
