Water well with a fine rose. Scatter seeds thinly and lightly cover with vermiculite or a little more compost. Place in a propagator at 18–25 °C or cover the tray with cling film and leave in a warm room.Growing OnWhen shoots appear, remove cling film. Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into small pots or module trays. Grow on in a minimum temperature of 10 °C.Planting OutGradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out in full sun once the risk of frost has passed. Allow 30 cm between plants and water well until established.AftercareWater regularly, especially during warm spells.
