Water well. Scatter a few seeds over the surface and cover with a thin layer of vermiculite or compost. Place in a propagator or cover the pot with cling film and keep warm at 15–20°C. Remove cling film as soon as seedlings emerge.Growing OnKeep seedlings in a light position but shaded from direct sunlight. Water the compost when it feels dry to the touch.Hardening Off / Planting OutGradually accustom plants to outside conditions over 2–3 weeks, then plant out from May onwards. Allow 25cm between clumps.AdviceGrow in moist, well-drained soil in sun or part shade, or in pots using a good quality compost. Plants can be overwintered if desired. Can also be sown outside in late spring, either in well-prepared soil or in 30cm+ pots.
