Water well with a fine rose. Sow seeds individually and lightly cover with vermiculite. Place in a propagator at 18–20°C or cover tray with cling film and leave in a warm room. Keep moist.Growing OnWhen shoots appear, remove cling film. Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When plants have 4 leaves transplant to 8cm pots of potting compost. Grow coolly and steadily at a minimum temperature of 15°C.Planting OutGradually accustom plants to outdoor conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out when temperatures exceed 10°C. Transfer to large pots (minimum 30cm), grow bags, or in a border 45cm apart either in a greenhouse or in a sunny, sheltered spot outside.SupportCordon/Indeterminate/Vine varieties require training up canes, strings or wires.
