The foliage of this plant boasts glossy, oval-shaped, dark green leaves which turns to shades of orange and then burgundy as the seasons change. Pinkish/white bell-shaped flowers develop and eventually give way to the berries that can be harvested from late-summer onwards. The fairly unique characteristic that sets this variety apart from others in the vaccinium family is that the berries are a deep pink colour when they are fully ripened, hence it's name. These fruits have a lovely mild flavour and can be eaten staight from the tree, they can also be used to make jams and desserts.
