70cl / 61.60% - Mortlach's mighty malt is known for being big, bold, and meaty, but how does it come to be this way? Well, we have the humble worm tub condenser to thank for much of that distinctive character. This old-school bit of kit is rarely seen these days. Fortunately, a handful of Scotch distilleries, including Mortlach, still use one, and the folks at Wormtub Whisky are celebrating them with a limited-edition Single Cask series. This single malt spent a dozen years maturing in a Pedro Ximenez sherry hogshead, yielding a total of 324 cask-strength bottles.
