Mike Hurst - Producers Archives Vol 4 1966-1980
MIKE HURST has over the decades produced the soundtrack of our lives. Mike was originally a performing member of THE SPRINGFIELDS with Tom and Dusty and they were the first British vocal group to have a Top 20 hit single in the USA with \""Silver Threads\"". The group disbanded in late 1963 and Mike turned his hand to record producing and initially worked for ANDREW LOOG OLDHAM and MICKIE MOST until in 1965 producing a very young MARC BOLAN \""The Wizard\"".\nIn 1965 after forming his own company he discovered CAT STEVENS and signed him to Deram and then produced Cat's first five singles including \""Mathew And Son\"" and \""I'm Gonna Get Me A Gun\"". Over the next few years he also produced PP ARNOLD \""The First Cut Is The Deepest\"" THE MOVE \""Curly\"", MANFRED MANN \""Mighty Quinn\"" as well as SPENCER DAVIS GROUP, NEW WORLD, WARM SOUNDS and ALAN BOWN SET.\nIn the '70s he formed his own production company and signed SHOWWADDYWADDY to Bell and produced a string of UK hits singles including \""U0
