Promising young driver Chris Hodgetts was engaged, and the team finished as class runners up in their debut season behind Alan Minshaw\u2019s Golf GTi. However, rival Ford works driver, Richard Longman, dominated the class in 1984, winning by 29 points, leaving Brooklyn 2nd again. The 1985 season started badly, after Hodgetts tangled with bike legend Barry Sheen\u2019s car, but the re-shelled car proved even quicker and Hodgetts fought through a tight season to emerge 2nd in the overall classification and 1st in class.
