The kit also includes figures for the gun crew. \n\nThe 40mm Bofors was an anti aircraft gun produced by the Swedish Bofors firm and was used by most Western Allies. \n\nThe prototype was tested during 1931 and was capable of 130 rounds per minute with final developments bringing the Bofors 40mm L/60 into service in 1933. It fired a 900g high explosive 40 x 311R (rimmed) shell at 2,800 feet per second. \n\nThe Bofors 40mm saw service in both the Army as well as the Navy. Furthermore it served in both the British and US forces as well as a huge number of allied armies. Captured Bofors were also pressed into service by the Germans and Japanese. The British used Bofors landed at Sword beach to defend Pegasus Bridge across the Orne river. Bg
