Primrose Astrantia Major Subsp. Involucrata Shaggy Masterwort 9Cm Pot Perennial Plant from B&Q
Primrose
Larger flowers with a ragged appearance. Position: full sun or partial shade Soil: fertile, moist, preferably humus-rich soil Rate of growth: average to fast-growing Flowering period: June to August Hardiness: fully hardy Exceptionally long, green-tipped, white bracts that are often incurved in the middle and raggedly toothed towards the ends, surround umbels of greenish white flowers, creating larger than average flower heads. 'Shaggy often freely self-seeds (if the faded flowers are not removed), although the seedlings rarely come true to type. Garden care: Incorporate plenty of organic matter and mycorrhizal fungi when planting. Water well in dry weather, especially newly established plants. Once established, lift and divide large clumps in early spring and apply a generous 5-7cm mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost around the plant. Divided specimens may take some time to establish since they don't like having their roots disturbed.
