Resist the temptation to cut back after the plant has flowered, as it often takes on beautiful autumn tints, particularly in cold weather. Cut back and divide large colonies in spring. Please be aware that purplish-brown spotting can appear on Gauras at certain times of the year and/or certain times in the plant's life cycle. This is not a disease but a physiological response to cold temperatures, and occurs when new growth has encountered unseasonably chilly conditions. It will not affect the plant's vigour or flowering potential and will often improve in warmer weather. Please note: This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring. Pots and Packaging Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery. Preparation The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage. A beautiful new addition, that looks sublime when teamed with ornamental grasses. It is not too big either, so will also be quite happy in a pot provided it is kept well watered.
