Colourful rosettes of green leaves tipped red make Sempervivum 'Atlas' a striking, low-maintenance addition to containers, rockeries and sunny borders. This hardy succulent is very drought tolerant once established. Plant in very well-drained soil or a container mix of 3:1 John Innes No.3 compost to horticultural grit and ensure good drainage holes. Water regularly while establishing; thereafter rely on rainfall except during prolonged dry spells. Feed once a year in spring with a balanced liquid feed. Plants may arrive active or dormant depending on the season, which is normal for hardy perennials.
