Onion Bhaji Spice Coating Mix - 50g\n\nA delicious blend of spices to create a traditional onion bhaji.\n\nIngredients: \n\u2022 280g finely sliced onion.\n\u2022 60ml cold water.\n\u2022 A squirt of lemon juice.\n\u2022 Cooking oil or low cal alternative for frying.\n\nMethod:\n\u2022 Mix together the bhaji mix, lemon juice, water and a pinch of salt in a large bowl to create a smooth thin batter \u2013 no thicker than double cream.\n\u2022 Add onion and mix thoroughly.\n\u2022 Heat oil in a deep fryer or frying pan to around 180 degrees. (At the correct temp a drop of batter should sizzle as it hits the oil, then float).\n\u2022 Take one tablespoon of the mixture and carefully place into the pan (or submerge into oil depending on cooking method) using another spoon.\n\u2022 Fry for 5-6 minutes, turning halfway, or until crisp and deep golden brown.\n\u2022 Drain on kitchen paper and serve with a warm mint dip (mix mint jelly with plain yoghurt).\n\u2022 Mix can be used as pako.
