When fitted with the bored cork bung, it protects the ferment by allowing a visual passing of gas pressure to escape but admits no air. \nHandy airlocks are generally quieter than bubbler airlocks. \nThe bungs are standard size as follows: \nBung size (approximate): Height 32mm / Diameter (top) 30mm / Diameter (base) 27mm. \nBungs fits most standard-size demijohns. Traditional cork bungs can be cut to size with a knife more easily than rubber bungs, for fitting to non-standard-sized vessels as required.
