Acid blend kit by Almost Off Grid. \nAcid blend for winemaking can be bought ready made but it's easy to make your own. It is made up of 3 acids: citric acid, malic acid and tartaric acid. Because citric acid is cheaper than the other two, inexpensive acid blends tends to be bulked up with more citric acid. If you make your own acid blend then you know what's in it. \nIt is simple to make your own blend by mixing 3 parts Tartaric acid, 2 parts Malic acid and 1 part Citric acid. So for example you could mix 1 1/2 tsp Tartaric Acid, 1 tsp Malic Acid & 1/2 tsp Citric. Then use your homemade acid blend in the following quantity: 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon per 4.5 litres of grape juice, or in whatever quantity your recipe calls for. \nOf course you can also use the three acids separately in homebrewing recipes. \nTartaric Acid - 50g tub.
