Simply mix the kiln wash with water to a creamy consistency and apply to the necessary parts with a brush.\nTo be mixed in the ratio 40 grams kiln wash to 60ml of water.\nKiln wash is designed to prevent your glaze from sticking to the kiln shelf, if it happens to come into contact with it during firing. As kiln shelves are generally made from hard ceramics, just like your pots, if any glaze melts onto the shelf it will become stuck.\nGlaze usually only comes into contact with the shelf if something were to go wrong. Normally you would try to prevent the glaze coming into contact with the shelf by raising them off the shelf or wiping the glaze of the pot bottoms - however you cannot predict when an unexpected prob.
