The Down Head Knight Series are single-weighted for balance and have felted bases to ensure the wood is well protected. These 'one-piece' carvings are created in a design that is not only great to look at but equally practical to play with. In the workshop, these chess pieces stand next to the luxury pieces that are also crafted there, using the same techniques and by the same craftsmen. Every single piece, from the kings to the pawns, is finished in natural wood with extensive hand polishing that produces the best possible end product. These chessmen will sit perfectly on any of our 13 - 15 inch (35 - 40 cm) chessboards, and as value chess pieces go, these are just about the best on offer, for their size, anywhere in the world.
