Beautifully crafted in Italy. Outstanding quality walnut and elm inlays. 16.75-inch board. 1.55-inch playing squares. Ideal for a king height of 3 inches. Outstanding quality Italian-made walnut and elm veneer chessboard. Finished in a quality lacquer, the wood grain and knotting of the walnut look simply sublime and has a rich depth of tone and patterning that can only impress. The inlaid veneer squares are bordered with a thin veneer of ebony that sections off the playing area from the edge. The underside of the board features a lacquered wooden veneer and has felting pads to protect surfaces underneath. The colouring and tone of this board is best suited to black pieces, either ebonised boxwood or solid ebony with a king height of 3 inches.
