This substantial chess set features beautifully crafted Staunton-style wooden chess pieces with a clean and elegant maple and mahogany chessboard. The chess pieces are heavily weighted and are tournament height at 4 inches. Each piece is hand-turned, and each knight is hand-carved from graded boxwood. They are a wonderful value and very detailed for their price. The European inlaid chessboard is around 19 inches in width and is made from real wooden veneers of red mahogany and light maple. The wood used for the board is sourced from sustainable woods in Europe. Included is a fabric carry bag for the chessmen.
