This compact early large flowered clematis produces reddish purple blooms with a velvety finish, bright stamens and a subtle silvery reverse to the sepals. The flowers are generously sized and create a luxurious display from midsummer onwards, with a second flush later in the season. It is also fully hardy and holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit, giving you reassurance about reliability and performance. This clematis grows beautifully with climbing roses, jasmine, shrubs and other trellis trained plants, where its deep colouring provides striking contrast.
