Phoenix canariensis, also known as Canary Island Date Palms, bring a holiday feel to your garden. These spectacular specimens instantly change the mood of a space - tall, elegant, and architectural, the long arching fronds stretch out from a sturdy trunk to create a true tropical vibe.Supplied with a matching pair of our 30cm wicker-effect plastic planters, they're ready to position straight out of the box. These planters have a lovely brushed silver finish with a woven texture, and they’re both UV-stable and frost-resistant, so you can leave them outside year-round.Phoenix palms are evergreen and hold their leaves beautifully through the seasons. While they can grow over 12m tall in their native Canary Islands, in a container here in the UK they're very manageable - usually staying around 2m or so. They're happy in full sun and enjoy a sheltered spot outdoors through spring and summer. In winter, if frost is forecast, just give them some protection or move them to a conservatory or porch if possible.These are also relatively drought tolerant once established - ideal for busy gardeners or those who often forget the watering can.
