Vitex agnus-castus 'Queen Bee' is a compact Chaste Tree shrub that delivers long-lasting lavender flower spikes, fragrant foliage and strong pollinator appeal from midsummer into early autumn.Its upright flower panicles bring valuable late-season colour, while the palmate green leaves release a pleasant aroma when touched.This rounded shrub grows to around 120cm tall and 100cm wide, giving borders, wildlife gardens and large patio containers a neat, feature-plant look without becoming too large. It grows well with lavender, salvia, nepeta, ornamental grasses, echinacea and other sun-loving plants, creating a relaxed, wildlife-friendly display packed with texture and movement.Once established, it copes well with heat and dry conditions, provided it is grown in well-drained soil. Plant in a sunny, sheltered position, water regularly while it settles in, then water during prolonged dry spells. Trim lightly after flowering to help maintain shape.
