This ready-to-use cake mix lets you create a delicious red velvet cake, in just a few simple steps - follow the instructions included. Perfect to have on hand in your cakey cupboard for a quick and simple tasty treat. 1kg of cake mixture will make a 9" round cake, an 8" extra deep round cake, or an 8" square cake. Available in 1kg and 5kg. Instructions: Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 2 / 150C. Add 400ml/14 fl oz of water per 1kg of cake mix. Beat on medium speed for approximately 5 minutes. For a deep 8” or 9“ cake, separate the mix between two tins to reduce cooking time. Cover the top of the tins with tin foil. If added into 2 tins, bake for around 35 minutes. Extra hot ovens may need checking more often. Check your bake with a skewer. If the skewer does not come out clean, then reduce oven temperature slightly and bake longer. Please note: If you bake your cake in 1 tin instead of 2, the cooking time will be considerably longer Just add water!
